About the course

Generation Mental Health is collaborating with partners to develop a comprehensive virtual course on mental health advocacy principles and practices, tailored specifically for young people, individuals with lived experience, and grassroots organizations. This course is designed to empower participants by building their advocacy knowledge, skills, and mindset, ensuring they can effectively champion sustainable support for mental health programs and policy changes.

Mental health advocacy is a critical area that requires diverse perspectives and voices, especially those with lived experience, to address the global mental health crisis. Many individuals and grassroots organizations are passionate about mental health but may lack the tools and strategies needed to advocate for policy change. This course aims to fill that gap, equipping participants with practical skills and an advocacy framework that can be applied in real-world settings.

We want to hear from you!

To ensure that this course is grounded in real experiences and addresses the actual challenges faced by advocates, we are seeking advocacy stories. These stories will help shape the content and approach of the course, making it as relevant and impactful as possible. We encourage participants to share their personal advocacy journeys—whether they’ve succeeded, faced setbacks, or are just getting started. Your experiences will be invaluable in guiding the development of this course, ensuring it resonates with advocates from all backgrounds and contexts.

By completing the survey, you can contribute to this collective effort to strengthen mental health advocacy worldwide. Your story can inspire others and help create a supportive network of mental health advocates who are ready to make meaningful change.
